The PROBLEM with Goku getting Potential Unlocked.

Does Goku have any potential to unlock by Old Kai or is he now getting stronger by mastering what he's got and stacking new transformations on top? The Elder Kai in Dragon Ball Z can turn a kitten into a tiger just like he did with Gohan, unlocking his Ultimate Power. But, with Goku. Would this be a waste of time or destroy Dragon Ball Super?
